scissorsandthread: Eco Friendly Soy Candles | Ruffled Making candles is really fun, and once you have the supplies you will become addicted, I promise! You can get your supplies from eBay or Etsy (eBay has some great starter kits) What I like most about soy wax is that it doesn’t give off that horrible smoky smell when you burn it - it just gives you the lovely scent. If you’re looking for some really pretty scents, my favourite place to buy scents is Northwest Natural, you can get a lot of ‘type’ fragrances and even Bacon scent if you really want to smell fresh as a BLT after your shower!

I still have books and books of my designs, and when I was about 12 my sister designed a website for my clothes! For some reason my label was called Cows With Attitude. Yeah… I don’t know why. It was during the time when everything was cow print or cow related so maybe that was my reason. Looking back now I realise that no woman wants to wear something named after a bovine. Anyway, though I didn’t realise my dreams of being a designer, I still love designing. This is great for sewers!

  • I am running an event called P.A.W. ( pet appreciation week ) that begin August 6th. I am having Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary come out as I usually do. I wanted to raise as much money as possible for them since they do soo much for rabbits and other wonderful small animals. One thing I've done so far is called vendors such as Purina, Science Diet, Frontline, Iams, and other companies. So far Purina has been more than thoughtful and gave me a ton of give aways that if you make a donation you can take your pick of an item. Last time I raffled one of my aprons which I might do again. Other than that I don't know how else to raise money for them.
  • This is the first pet event that has been given for me to organize which is a big deal because we are teaming up with Petfinder.com!
  • We have never partnered up with anyone like this so I want it to go well.
  • If you have any suggestions and craft ideas please let me know!
